ONLINE GROUP CLASSES-Series 1
Somatic Movement Practice: Learn these gentle but powerful self-care techniques to bring new mobility, intelligence, sensation, control to the muscles, and teach the brain to bring muscles to their optimum resting length. We will avoid stretch and pain, and approach the nervous system in an entirely different way. This movement technique, based on the work of the late neuromuscular pioneer, Thomas Hanna PhD, reverses and releases the contractive patterns present in your nervous system and muscles, the imprint of your history, and emotional and physical trauma. You can teach your nervous system a calmer setting, excellent for stress reduction. If your nervous system is more calm, your intelligence is more available to you, perfect for what we need right now, which is to be more resilient, adaptable, and better creative problem solvers!
Series 1: Wednesdays July 29-Aug 12. Please note 2 different time options below. Audio recordings for all participants. Classes are 75 min, and if you wish to stay afterwards for comments and discussion, you are welcome!
July 29: Somatic Basics for Mobilizing the Torso: Focus on central body, re-patterning muscles for increasing mobility, sensation, control, calming the nervous system, with health benefits to all systems.
Aug 5: Increasing Oxygen Intake for more Brain Power and Energy: this class is about freeing the muscles of breathing in the torso, ribs, to increase breathing potential. More movement equals more oxygen, which benefits the whole body.
Aug 12: Somatic Solutions for Smarter, Pain free Hips, Legs, Feet: We will re-pattern muscles in the torso, pelvis, all the way to the feet, for more fluid and easy walking, running, dancing. This may be a very helpful class for people with lower torso, leg and foot issues.

Option 2: 10am Seattle, 12pm Nashville, 1pm NYC, 2pm Halifax, 6pm London, 7pm Norway, 8pm Finland.
Location: Online Zoom platform. (if you are new to zoom, you must download the app at zoom.us. it takes about 10 min to do so, and is free)
Policy for Late Arrivals: Kindly arrive no later than 5 min prior to the start of class. The zoom room will open 15 min early. Late arrivals after the start of class may not be admitted. It is distracting to the class, teacher, and recording process. If you are late and not admitted, you will still receive the recording.
