Learn these gentle but powerful self-care techniques to bring new mobility, intelligence, sensation, control to the muscles, and teach the brain to bring muscles to their optimum resting length. We will avoid stretch and pain, and approach the nervous system in an entirely different way. This movement technique, based on the work of the late neuromuscular pioneer, Thomas Hanna PhD, reverses and releases the contractive patterns present in your nervous system, the imprint of your history, both emotional and physical trauma. You can teach your nervous system a calmer setting, excellent for stress reduction. If your nervous system is more calm, your intelligence is more available to you, perfect for what we need right now, which is to be more resilient, adaptable, and better creative problem solvers!

Series 3: Please note 2 different time options below. Recordings of classes available for participants. After class, we take around 15 min for discussion and feedback. You can either sign off at class end, and email me your feedback or stay on and listen whether you feel like commenting of not. June 6, “Creating a More Intelligent Spine” is about re-patterning muscles of the torso and deep to the spine, for a more articulate, decompressed vertebral column. When muscles are recalibrated to their optimum resting length, there is more motion, circulation to all the tissues, bones, discs, fascia, and increased sensation, control. 75 min class.

June 13, “Somatic Solutions for Hips, Pelvis, Legs” brings focus to the lower torso, upper legs, to help with chronic pain such as sciatica, sacroiliac joint discomfort, hip and pelvic pain and more. 75 min.

June 20, “Creating Comfort, Ease for Shoulders, Neck, Jaw” addresses upper body issues with some details for Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ). We will work on the floor and sitting, so have a chair ready that has firm padding and without arm rests. 75 min.

June 27, “A Somatic Approach to Gentle Strengthening Part 2” applies somatic principals to strengthening, creating long, strong, smart muscles. please have some large bolsters or 4 folded blankets, plus some folded towels ready as props for this class. 75 min class.

Policy for Late Arrivals: Kindly arrive no later than 5 min prior to the start of class. Late arrivals after the start of class may not be admitted. It is distracting to the class, teacher, and recording process. If you are late and not admitted, but have paid for the class, you will have access to the recording.
