Mar 27: Exploring Torso Movement Vectors: we will address commonly used angles of movements, and add some unusual vectors to re-educate, address some interesting details, bring more mobility and intelligence to torso, extremities, affecting total motion, breath, comfort and ease.
Apr 3: Somatic solutions for knees, feet: Movement of the feet engages muscles that run up to and are part of the knee joint, so it makes sense to connect the two. We will address knee and foot health from the upper leg and central torso as well. If you have taken classes with focus on feet with me before, we will explore some familiar basics, and meet some new ideas as well.
Apr 10: Shifting Body Image: What is your own body image? What is your relationship to yourself on all levels? Is it positive or negative? Is it friend or foe? Lets get curious about and investigate that relationship as we connect with our authentic, deep somatic selves, with slow, sensual movement sequences.
Apr 17: Exploring Different Relationships to Gravity: In this class, we will take groups of related movement from the floor, to sitting, too standing, and let the brain sense how different relationships to gravity change and enhance the movements.
Apr 24: Somatics for Health of Inner Organs: every move we make creates movements for the organs on the inside, lengthening, compressing, stimulating circulation and promoting health. Some systems, like the cardiovascular and lymphatic are directly and powerfully affected by pandiculation. We will increase our movement potential, we bring new awareness, health, sending gratitude into these amazing organ systems.
These classes may be purchased as a 5 class bundle, covid discount price or Pay it Forward option (see below), or as single classes. Audio recordings come with each class, so if you miss a live class from the bundle, you have the recording to enjoy. Classes are approximately 75-80 min. If you wish to share comments or ask questions after class, you are welcome. Zoom platform. Links will arrive the day before class.

UK/Europe students: For the first class only, Mar 27, you will meet one hour earlier (class A 1pm UK time, Class B 4pm UK time) and then shift to the regular time, one hour later on the 2nd class and forward. thanks for making this adjustment!
Online somatic movement classes: Learn these gentle but powerful self-care techniques to bring new mobility, intelligence, sensation, control to the muscles, and teach the brain to bring muscles to their optimum resting length. We will avoid stretch and pain, and approach the nervous system in an entirely different way. This movement technique, based on the work of the late neuromuscular pioneer, Thomas Hanna PhD, reverses and releases the contractive patterns present in your nervous system, the imprint of your history, both emotional and physical trauma. You can teach your nervous system a calmer setting, excellent for stress reduction. If your nervous system is more calm, your intelligence is more available to you, perfect for what we need right now, which is to be more resilient, adaptable, and better creative problem solvers!
Wear comfortable, flexible clothing, and have a chair, mat and several folded towels and/or 3 yoga blankets ready as elevation, props.
Location: Online Zoom platform. (if you are new to zoom, you must download the app at zoom.us prior to class. It takes 10 min to do so, and is free)
Policy for Late Arrivals: Kindly arrive no later than 5 min prior to the start of class. Late arrivals after the start of class may not be admitted. It is distracting to the class, teacher, and recording process. If you are late and not admitted, but have paid for the class, you will have access to the recording. Thanks for your support and understanding with this issue!
