Oct 24 “Core to the Floor” we will use these somatic techniques to create a smarter connection from the central torso to the feet. This class includes some new foot details, and some brief anatomy and appreciation of the foot.

Oct 31 “A gentle whole body warmup using pandiculation” In this class, I will break down and introduce to you my version of a Bartenieff fundamentals movement sequence that strengthens and releases the torso in all planes of motion. It makes a great quick warmup for athletic activity.

Nov 7 “Improving knee health” somatic approach to balancing this hard working joint with attention to upper, lower leg, and pelvis and torso, all of which affect how well it functions.

Nov 14 “The whole body is in conversation with itself” is a gentle deep exploration that brings the brain’s attention to initiation and response of the central body to the extremities and the reverse. Its about enhancing your physical intelligence, and connections to your deep self on all levels, and profoundly calming the nervous system.

What you will need: comfortable, flexible clothing, a chair, a mat or other padding for the floor, several towels or blankets folded as props, and a quiet place for your somatic movement practice. Practice setting up your device so that I can see all of you on your mat. Avoid back lighting like a bright window.

Location: Online zoom platform. A link will be sent to you prior to class.

Policy for Late Arrivals: Kindly arrive at least 5 min prior to the start of class. Late arrivals after the start of class may not be admitted. It is distracting to the class, teacher, and recording process. If you are late and not admitted, you will have access to the audio recording the next day.
